BCC Residence - frequent questions and answers

Are there washing machines and tumble dryers in the residence?
Yes there are washing machines and tumble dryers in all the residences
Do I have to bring bath towels?
Yes you will need to bring your towels
Is there a hairdryer?
No
Must I bring a notebook?
No BCC will provide you with a welcome pack which includes a notebook, yellow bus map and excursion information.
Are there en-suite bathrooms?
No, all the bathrooms and kitchens are shared in all the residences.
How far is the BCC residence from the classrooms?
The largest residence is 75ft from the school and about 1 minute walking distance, 2 more are about a 3minute walk from the school and th 4th one is about a 15 minute walk.
How are the rooms furnished?
Every room is furnished with a single bed, a desk, a chair and a dresser.
Is bed linen provided?
Yes, bed linen is provided
Can students cook for themselves?
Yes they can. Every kitchen has cookware and utensils are provided as well as ovens, microwaves and refrigerators.
Do you guarantee a place in College accommodation?
The student residence is available all year around and generally we can accommodate our students, however, students are advised to book in advance, especially for summer time when there is not always enough accommodation, especially in the town centre
How much is the rent and when does it have to be paid?

Is there a wireless internet connection in the residence?
Yes there is a wireless connection. It is free of charge. However students are required to bring their lap-top computers to use it.
What if I need to arrive early?
In some circumstances, students can arrive early. However the charge per extra night is £15.
Can I have visitors?
Please refer to BCC Tenancy Agreement .Visitors are allowed in the residence during the day time. Overnight stay is not allowed unless by prior arrangement with the accommodation staff and guests will be charged.
When I arrive at Bournemouth Airport should I go to the residence or to the school? and how? by bus? by taxi (how much is it)? What is the best option?
You can walk from the train or coach station to the residence which is around 10 minutes walk. By taxi from the train station to the BCC residence, it will cost you around £4.50
There is an airport shuttle bus: a return ticket is about £10 to the Bournemouth town centre. For more information, please visit the following link:

In the confirmation letter, there is an emergency number if you need any kind of help when you arrive in Bournemouth.
