COURSES IN ACADEMIC ENGLISH

Bournemouth City College has formal links to more than 50 British universities and colleges for international students who wish to continue in Higher Education.
Depending on the subject chosen for further study, students must get 6 points or more in the IELTS Test (International English Language Testing System). Success in the IELTS Test is a requirement of all respected British higher education institutes.
The Academic English course concentrates on the Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening skills which are necessary for academic purposes and comprises 22.5 hours tuition per week. The course content is closely linked to a well-respected course book, plus other reading, writing, speaking and listening projects developed by our own highly focussed and dedicated teachers.
Existing Bournemouth City College students can join this course on successful completion of an Upper Intermediate General English course. Applicants from overseas must first show that they have reached this level by providing us with confirmation from a previous school or college.
